TmSiaB III released

Trackmania Server in a Box is making it into the next round. And this round is pretty demanding:
During round one and two the „completely worry-free-package establishing a dedicated server“ comes along with a complete linux-distribution. Unfortunatley, the word „linux“ deterred many Trackmaniacs from downloading and using it. Therefore in round three: It´s a Windowsversion !

To make a long story short
TmSiaB III includes all to start, configure and administer a Dedicated Server for Trackmania in a simple way.

Under the hood of the „NIP“ ( Near IdiotProof Userinterface ) are hiding the followin software ( uptodate! ) :

- 5 different types of dedicated server (TMU Forever, TMN Forever, TMO, TMS and TMS ),
- 4 different types of servertools/plugins ( Xaseco incl. Fufi, Mistral Aseco, [LIVE] and FAST ),
- 2 different versions of remoteCP ( v3.3.3 for „Classics“ and v4.0.3.5 for „Forever“ )
- 1 complete webserver incl. PHP, Apache and SQL.

All of this is crunched in a 20 MiB-Download!!!
This was made possible by forceful prevention of „Bullshit“. Thus said, there isn´t any software included which is comercial, too big or useless for anybody. On coding TmSiaB attention was turned on not to waste precious cpu-resources so that the whole shebang is small, effective in order that TmSiaB III will running on almost every PC out there.

Tested minimum system requirements
- OS: Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Win7
- RAM: 256 MiB
- CPU: Pentium III 533 Mhz and higher

For this reason TmSiaB III is able to running at your Gaming-PC in the background, while playing Trackmania or talking to other players via a chat program.

TmSiaB III uncompress itself from 20 to approx. 140 MiB during installationprocess, there will be NO hidden additional software or manipulation of the registry. It will be executable right after finishing installation. This means that you´re able to install it to almost every medium that have a driveletter under Windows! Regardless it´s a HDD, SD-Card, Pendrive or even a CDRW. Casually, you have a „TM Dedicated Server to go“!

Developing TmSiaB
A Windowsversion... it wasn´t meant to happen like this, it just did. For a linuxfan ( I´m not a coder! ) like me, scripting with windows is a pain in the ass! Windows leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to specialized questions like filemanipulation in the normal shell („PowerShell“ is well on her way but... it´s not installed on every windows-pc ). Slipping a simple Userinterace over the developed shellscripts is another business: Without codingknowledge in „higher programming languages“ you won´t have any chance to do it „simple along the way“.

The solution was found during a research for another projekt: Searching with Google.com, browsing the Microsoftknowledgebase and Selfphp.de... suddenly serendipiting a Windowsversion of TmSiaB ^^

The first training sessions with my new found opponent where.. um.. nebulous. After a few hours the fog lifted and I was able to see the wood for the trees again. At that time the basic framework of TmSiaB III was stored on my hdd and I was sure to make it final within four weeks. Announcing this at the german Deep Silver forum (to build up some pressure to me while doing the job ) I was highly motivated to keep the distance & deadline.

The work was finished 2 weeks later, that way I undermatched my conservative estimate and was ready for the final fight: TmSiaB III was released to the Trackmaniacs in the german [URL="http://forum.deepsilver.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49750"]Deep Silver Forum[/URL] and a few days later in the international [URL="http://www.tm-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=25484"]TM-Forum[/URL],too

TmSiaB I and II were downloaded over 1270 times in three years and it seems as if third version could get it better: TmSiaB III was downloaded over 300 times in only two weeks.

Everyone, who want´s to rapidly create a clean configured, nice looking dedicated server e.g. like

I watched the tutorial on tm-tube, awesome idea and seems very easy to manage. If I'm gonna put up a server in the future then I'll definitely use this!

This will be especially nice if I can host multiple servers on the same box with it, which I already do with the dedicated server + fast.

I started trying it but when i want to put server account login and password i click on the TMUF button to get them but when i do a new window pops up and says "An error has occured in the script on this page". It then asks me :"Do you want to continue running scrpts on this page?" I click yes but nothing happens even if i retry . I tried disinstalling and reinstalling but it does the same thing. Does somebody know how to solve this please? Maybe i should try another program?
